We'll see you again in August!
YCH Hops has announced their new Cryo Hops™! Cryo Hops™ represents the most innovative technology in hop processing. It uses a proprietary cryogenic separation process which preserves all components of each hop fraction, producing two simultaneous co-products, LupuLN2™ and Debittered Leaf.
LupuLN2 is the concentrated lupulin of whole-leaf hops containing resins and aromatic oils. It is designed to provide intense hop flavor and aroma, enabling brewers to dose large quantities of hops without introducing astringent flavors or vegetative cone material. During early R&D trials, brewers specifically cited ‘juicy’ and ‘resinous’ characteristics. LupuLN2 offers twice the resin content of traditional whole-leaf and hop pellet products, and should be dosed at approximately half the amount by weight.
We have access to Cryo Hops™ LupuLN2™ in Cascade, Citra, Ekuanot, Mosaic and Simcoe. We have already placed a small pre-order with out suppliers, but those are likely to go quickly. If you want to try these out for yourself make sure you contact us soon. Our pre-order window closes on June 24th!
This Wednesday I will be leaving for HomebrewCon, the 39th Annual National Homebrewers Conference, in Minneapolis. Like last year, my wife Jennifer will be running the store in my absence with some changes to our store hours:
Tuesday June 13th: Normal Hours 10AM - 7PM
Wednesday June 14th: Limited Hours 12:30PM - 7PM
Thursday June 15th: Limited Hours 12:30PM - 7PM
Friday June 16th: Limited Hours 10AM - 4PM
Saturday June 17th: Normal Hours 9AM - 5PM
Sunday June 18th: Normal Hours 10AM - 4PM
We appreciate your patience with Jennifer while I'm gone. She is doing me a huge favor by agreeing to run the store in my absence. And as always, I will just be a phone call or text message away.

As some of you know, we transitioned to a new Point of Sale system in our store last year. Since then, the our website inventory and our retail inventory have not been talking to each other. This has resulted in the website showing incorrect stock levels for our products. We have also added over 50 new products since the transition and those products were not showing up on the website.
We are now taking steps to run one inventory system with our website and retail location. In order to accomplish this, I have to remove all products that were listed on the website and repopulate them from our retail inventory.
What that means is that until we are able to update each and every product individually, the pretty pictures and awesome product descriptions that you are used to will be gone. You will notice lesser quality pictures (or missing pictures) and transcription errors in our product descriptions.
Also, grains ordered through the website will now only be available in pound and sack quantities. You may still purchase grain by the ounce at our retail location.
We will be working hard to update pictures, product descriptions and organization on the website, but it will take time. We appreciate your patience during this transition and look forward to building your next brew with you!
