Operating Update
The health of our community and our families is top of our minds right now, and with that under consideration we are going to begin implementing new procedures here at Southern Hills Homebrew Supply.To begin with, we ask that you place all of your orders online. To help, we are going to continue our 10% discount for ordering online. Just use code "5thBDAY" at checkout and your entire order will be discounted 10%.
Alongside online ordering we will begin implementing curbside pickups. When you arrive to our store, just beep your horn and we will come out to greet you. This way you won't even need to leave your car to receive your order.
We continue our safety precautions in store such as rigorous hand washing and disinfection of surfaces.
Beginning Tuesday March 24th we will be changing our operating hours. We will still remain open 6 days a week, but we will be closing at 5pm on weekdays. The new hours are:
Monday: Closed (deliveries to Blacksburg will continue at this time.)
Tuesday - Friday: 10am - 5pm
Saturday: 9am - 5pm
Sunday: 10am - 4pm
Supply Chain Logistics
Woo, fun stuff.I am happy to report that we began increasing our inventory orders earlier this year in order to meet our already growing demand - before this outbreak even began. This week there has been a bit of run on our supplies due to more folks being at home and finding that they have some time on their hands. But I want to assure you that we are pretty well stocked and we continue to have inventory shipments coming in. In fact, the only supplier that has notified us that they are shutting down for the time being is Omega Yeast Labs. We respect their decision to keep their staff safe and we hope to continue to stock their yeast when this outbreak is over.
Some other distributors have warned us of longer lead times for orders, as well as some supply chain disruptions from international container routing. As you can imagine, this should not be an issue with domestic products which make up the bulk of our supplies. In fact, we are expecting a pallet of grain and malt extract from Briess in Chilton, WI this coming Tuesday.
Today marks exactly 5 years since we opened our doors here at Southern Hills Homebrew Supply and we have no plans on shutting them any time soon. Rest assured that we will do all we can to remain operating and supplying you with the best ingredients and equipment available at fair, competitive prices.
We will get through this crisis together and we will come out stronger on the other side. Because that's what we do as a people.
